Muna Ndulo joined the Cornell Law School Faculty in 1999 and is also currently Director of Cornell Universitys Institute for African Development. He is Honorary Professor of Law, Faculty of Law, at the University of Cape Town. He is an authority on African legal systems, human rights, international criminal law, constitution making, election monitoring and international law and foreign direct investments. After receiving his LL.B from the University of Zambia, his LL.M from Harvard Law School, and a D. Phil from Oxford University, Dr. Ndulo was a Public Prosecutor for the Zambian Ministry of Legal Affairs. He was Dean of the University of Zambia School of Law from 1977 - 1982, and from 1986 -1996, he served as Legal Officer for the International Trade Law Branch of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). From 1992-1994, he served as Political Adviser to the United Nations Observer Mission in South Africa (UNOMSA), and also to the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General to South Africa. He has served in a number of other United Nations peace-keeping missions including as legal adviser to the United Nations Assistance Mission to East Timor (UNAMET) in 1999, legal expert to the United Nations Mission to Kosovo (UNAMIK) in 2000, and legal expert to the United Nations Mission to Afghanistan (UNAMA) in 2003. He is a member of the Advisory Committee, Human Rights Watch (Africa), and Chairperson of a South African NGO, Gender Links.
