Asif Efrat earned a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University and an LL.B. from Tel Aviv University. His research and teaching interests include international law, trade regulation, and transnational crime. His current book project examines the set of international regulatory agreements that tackle illicit trade; in particular, it explores the international efforts against the illicit arms trade, looting of antiquities, and human trafficking. A theoretical article based on this project has appeared in the Fordham International Law Journal; an empirical article on small-arms regulation is forthcoming in the leading international-relations journal International Organization.
