Professional Biography

Robert Kent is an expert in alternative dispute resolution, civil procedure, conflict of laws, constitutional law, federal courts, and international litigation. After receiving his LL.B from Boston University, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University Law Review, Professor Kent worked for two years in private practice, and then began teaching at his alma mater. Professor Kent's teaching career at Boston University spanned thirty-one years, two of which he spent abroad, as Professor of Law and Dean of the University of Zambia. He joined the Cornell Law School Faculty in 1981, and served as Associate Dean from 1982-1986. A dedicated teacher even after his retirement in 1992, Professor Kent was Distinguished Visiting Professor at the Roger Williams University School of Law from 1997-2001.
