David Curtiss spent two years in private practice and one year as District Attorney for Wayne County, New York. Before joining the Cornell Law School Faculty in 1947, Professor Curtiss taught at the University of Buffalo Law School. In addition to his teaching duties, Professor Curtiss served as Associate Dean from 1958 to 1962. He retired in 1986.
